Introduction CD 71

The work HOCH-ZEITEN for orchestra and choir of SUNDAY from LIGHT has been released on CD 73. The orchestra and choir perform the work separately in two halls simultaneously. In the intermission, either the audiences or the ensembles change halls and HOCH-ZEITEN is then played or sung a second time.
The five choir groups were recorded individually, synchronously mixed and dynamically balanced, as were the orchestra groups. With the exception of three sections, the choir groups sing simultaneously in five different, changing tempi. Seven times, orchestra blend-ins are faded into the choir.

It is very revealing – for study and learning purposes – to hear the individual choir groups and all five groups synchronously without the orchestra Blend-ins. They are recorded on the 3 compact discs of CD 71 A thru C:

compact disc 71 A:
choir group I sopranos 1 (3 + 4);
choir group II sopranos 2 (3 + 4);

compact disc 71 B:
choir group III altos (4 + 4);
choir group IV tenors (4 + 4);

compact disc 71 C:
choir group V basses (4 + 4);
choir groups I–V simultaneously.

Introduction CD 72

The work HOCH-ZEITEN for orchestra and choir of SUNDAY from LIGHT has been released on CD 73. The orchestra and choir perform the work separately in two halls simultaneously. In the intermission, either the audiences or the ensembles change halls and HOCH-ZEITEN is then played or sung a second time.
The five orchestra groups were recorded individually, synchronously mixed and dynamically balanced, as were the choir groups. With the exception of three sections, the orchestra groups play simultaneously in five different, changing tempi. Seven times, the principal players of the groups play Memories of the seven operas of the work LICHT: five duets, two trios. In addition, seven choir blend-ins are faded into the orchestra.

It is very revealing – for study and learning purposes – to hear the individual orchestra groups and all five groups synchronously without the Memories and without the choir Blend-ins. They are recorded on the 3 compact discs of CD 72 A thru C:

compact disc 72 A:
orchestra group I 3 flutes, 3 violins;
orchestra group II 3 oboes, 3 trumpets;

compact disc 72 B:
orchestra group III 3 clarinets, 3 violas
orchestra group IV 3 horns, 3 bassoons;

compact disc 72 C:
orchestra group V 3 trombones, 3 violoncelli;
orchestra groups I–V simultaneously.
